It’s confusing on the field and could be mistaken for a fair catch, but I think he was waving because he was off balance.
what the hell is this announcer talking about “play through the whistle”? is this guy retarded? if you play throughthe whistle its a 15 yard personal foul and you might get kicked out of the game, terrible call tho
according to the rules in the description say and i quote “extending one hand only clearly above his head and waving that hand from side to side of his body more than once”
In the replay he sticks his hand out the the side of his body not above his head, waves 1 time, so Technically speaking BY THE RULES its not a fair catch
Nevermind… he brought up a good point at the end…. the whistle never blew. I guess thats true. You have to playout out til you hear a whistle.
Thats what I was thinking. How exactly does the announcer expect him to “finish the play” when he thought the play was already finished!
still any1 that plays pop warner football heres it play to the whistle blows if there is no whistle hit the guy as hard as u can and he was catching his balance he didnt sit there and wave his arm back and forth he slipped on the muddy field and caught his balance
This is just like saying on a kickoff, team 1 is running it back and team 2 is kicking it off. When team 1 gets the football, your saying the returner could basically fake knee towards the ground (his knee not touching the ground) and when the players stop, he can take off and score. All I’m saying is if there is an attempted knee, or in this case a hand in the air, you would call it a fair catch because his hand waved in the air.
Sorry, roughing the receiver.
roughing the kicker?
This announcer is a moron. If he “finishes the play” he’d get flagged for tackling someone after a fair catch. The returner clearly waved.
Well then, that just proves hes a dirty player, making everyone think hes calling for a fair catch in order to score a touchdown.
He shoulda been hit as hard as possible for that. But if one of the players had never slowed down or stopped and they actually hit him then a ref woulda threw a flag for hiting him after he waved.
Larry Taylor is SOO good at kick returns he should be in the nfl not up here in the cfl. but i guess hes just not good enough for nfl then who knows?
yeahh that was unfair, but larry taylor is still a beast!
THAT…was pathetic
Dumbass announcer, if you “KEEP PLAYING” you get a ‘Roughing the Kicker’ call, IDIOIT!
i remember this play… i’ll say it again “refs should all be put into camps, starved, beaten, and slaughtered”- theillestdank
it wasnt a fair catch because he didnt do it properly, but ever here of the foul invalid fair catch signal, he should have received that. it was a desperate move, and next time i hope he gets layed out, even if he does wave fair catch
Sorry, my mistake.
…yes, whats the point trying to be made? Everyone can clearly see what you stated. All you did was point out what he didn’t do in my description of a fair catch
Except he didn’t wave from side to side and he only waved once.
In order for it to be a fair catch, the returner has to wave ONE hand above there hand from side to side more than once
I don’t know what he was doing, but it’s clear that according to the definition in the rules, that was not a fair catch signal.
what was he doing, trying to fly?
i agree with u but under those rules if he cant advances it and the play isn’t dead is he just fair game to get hit and not advance it?
