you hit the nail on the head. warren moon had to basically leave the country to get noticed and hes one of the best to ever play.

getyoasshome November 10, 2009 at 10:33 pm

Well opinions are like assholes everyones got one.

cbaldwinjr November 10, 2009 at 11:26 pm

Well, they were dominated…it was 34-13 save for a cosmetic TD at the end. Major Harris was the first college football player I followed…and I was NOT FEELIN’ 1989 after that game. Like I said, it was just too bad he had to get hurt

bulletstopper636 November 11, 2009 at 12:23 am

That guy could run and throw. He could take a hit too. Pat White could take alot of punishment but you could tell it wore on him. Major was a damn tank.

bulletstopper636 November 11, 2009 at 12:51 am

That game was miserable to watch but I can’t say they got rolled.

cbaldwinjr November 11, 2009 at 1:26 am

It’s too bad he separated his shoulder early in the Fiesta Bowl against Notre Dame. I’m not saying WVU would’ve won…but I don’t honestly think they would’ve gotten rolled the way they did if Major Harris was healthy. The guy was literally 20 years ahead of his time…just nuts to watch when I was a kid.

man, what a cannon!

The reason he never got the chance wasn’t because of prejudice. He was immature, got involved with bad people. Major Harris has nobody to blame but himself.

Tony Rice, Tommy Frazier, Rodney Peete were drafter later than Troy Aikman. You think that racist? Uh, sounds like good scouting to me.

TheKevineaddy November 11, 2009 at 3:38 am

Black Quarterbacks got no love back then. Thank God the game has progressed in the last 10 years. Tony Rice at Notre Dame, Tommy Frazier. Rodney Peete had a more superior college career than Troy Aikman but was drafted later.

A superior athlete that never got his chance to display his skills at the next level due to prejudice NFL scouts, coaches, coordinators, general managers, and owners that refused to understand his potential.

We’re from Northern VA, gradually moving out of DC. Not a huge family, but Ive heard we were originally from Illinois. Pretty cool! If you have facebook, and are interested, my name is Jacob McNemar. Good way to research the family history a bit. Take care man!

pjmcnemar November 11, 2009 at 3:53 am

Hey, that is rare! I’m Nebraska born & bred, but the McNemars I’m related too were all from the Ozarks of Arkansas, hillbillies I’m sure. Ha!

heavyhitters12 November 11, 2009 at 4:41 am

Whoa, where are you from man? My last name is McNemar. Im in VA…dont run into that very often…

KingmanIII November 11, 2009 at 4:52 am

Agreed…they need to go back to simpler designs like this one.

pjmcnemar November 11, 2009 at 5:22 am

That’s not true; he was not the FIRST QB to have great speed and a big arm. Sure, he was great, but not the first to have both abilities!

CastleBBK69 November 11, 2009 at 5:30 am

The uniforms back then looked wayyy better than the ones today

romanceatthedisco13 November 11, 2009 at 5:32 am

Major was the first ever quarter back in the NCAA that Great speed and a big arm at the same time

Check out the clip on the pass rusher at 1:28. Not a great highlight for Major’s o-line.

dubveegirl November 11, 2009 at 7:00 am
