The bottom line is – ask for help when you need it! Whether from a consultant, an admissions counselor, family, friends, teachers, counselors and people you know who are in college. Don't be shy about asking the questions you have.
A consultant can certainly be very helpful and can walk you through the entire admissions process, from planning your courses and activities in high school or to one particular activity of admissions. I'm one of the latter types of consultants, specializing in working with students on the writing sections of the college applications. My website, with a free forum and monthly newsletter, is at http://www.Zinjenzo.com. (I'm very good with any non-Washington residents who want expert help with the University of Washington application essays.)
